EDINBURGH, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- The overall Scotch Whisky exports declined in first half of 2014 despite an increase in some key markets, said the Scotch Whisky Association on Monday.
Exports of Scotch in the first half of the year were 1.77 billion pounds (about 2.89 billion U.S. dollars), down 11 percent from 1.99 billion pounds in the same period of 2013 cheap nike air presto , showed the figures published by the Association.
Following a decade of fast growth, the demand for Scotch is levelling off in some markets, it noted.
However, there is confidence in the long-term future of Scotch, with many projects for new distilleries under way, and up to 2 billion pounds of capital investment in Scotland committed by producers, it added.
